Dear CYBL Families,

First of all, on behalf of the entire board I want to thank you all for being patient and understanding as we deal with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and hope that you all are doing well and staying safe & healthy. As has been mentioned in past communications, the Board's goal has been to provide our kids an opportunity to play baseball this Summer and we've been working closely with the Riverside School District to make that happen.

 

As you all know, the order from Gov. DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health has closed schools through the end of June and we have confirmed with the School Board that this includes the fields at LaMuth Middle School. On Sun, May 3 the league board held a virtual meeting and voted to delay Opening Day to on or around July 15th. In addition to that we also voted to reopen registration for those that desire to play  given the new information. The new deadline to register will be June 15th and that will also be the last day to request a full refund. If new information is released that impacts our current plan we will do our best to notify you as quickly as possible.

 

Again, our desire to provide an opportunity to play baseball this Summer while also abiding by the rules set forth by the State of Ohio has been the driving force behind our decisions. We can't stress enough our gratitude to the families of this league for your support as we navigate this unprecedented situation. It is also important to be clear that the safety of our children is absolutely paramount to any decision we make and we will be sure to provide specific information regarding our plan to adhere to any social distancing guidelines in place when the season starts.

 

Lastly, I want to personally thank my fellow board members for their time and dedication to supporting the Concord Youth Baseball League. This has been a challenging situation for everyone and they have all stepped up to do everything we can to give the kids a chance to play ball this Summer.
